Blog 2 - Packing for school! Part 1

 Hello everyone! Today is a big event for all of my family. Our grandparents are moving in and it is 3 more days until school! Mom is going to take me and my brother shopping. My little sister and my dad will help Nana and Gramp move in! My sister is only 4 so she is not going to school yet. She is in preschool, but she does not need supplies for that! 

"Lucy, honey, we need to go!" 

"Coming Mom!" I yell as I run downstairs. My brother thinks I spend too much time getting ready, but he doesn't have long hair or any pretty dresses. 

"Lucy, we're leaving"

"I'm -gasp- here!" I panted as I ran out the door. 

I hopped in the car and we did a quick check to make sure we had everything in the car. 

"What themes are we going for this year?" asked mom as she started the car. 

"I'm thinking colorful!"

"Oh no, Lucy forgot something!" Matthew exclaimed. 

Mom pulled up. "What is it?"

"Her brain!" Matthew wheezed. 

"Matthew thats not funny! You made me pull over for that."

"ANYWAYS, Mom, can I buy mechanical pencils?"

"I don't want you to be used to those, but just one for just homework is ok."

"Thank you Mom!" I have always wanted mechanical pencils but our school does not allow them until the 4th grade. Now that I'm starting 4th, I can use mechanical pencils for assignments and homework. Not for tests though, how mom said. 

"We are here!" Mom said, unbuckling her seat belt! 

We walked inside the store and shopped for hours! I mangaed to get my colorful theme. All of my supplies have rainbows on them! We checked things off our list. Binders, pencils, folders, notebooks, my backpack, and so many more! I wondered if the list would ever end! Finally, we finished shopping! Mom put the bags in the back of the car as we hopped in. It felt so good to sit down! 

We pulled up on the driveway to find a familiar gray, two seater car. I ran inside the house with my bag of supplies and smelt cookies. 

"Nana and Gramp!"
