Kim Rae-Myung and the Mean Girls

 Hello everyone! Today was kind of started with an unexpected twist. The rest of the day was fun but this specific part of the day stayed in my head for a while. That's why I am writing about today in two journal entries. Anyways, let's get into the story. 

It all started in the morning. In the morning, Mom didn't have to cook today. 

"Mom, the stove isn't even hot." I said right after getting ready and coming downstairs. "How is breakfast done?" 

"Good morning hon! The neighbors were so kind and made us fresh breakfast! They have a daughter too! It might be fun for you two to meet!"

"How old is she Mom?" I asked as I sat down and put bacon on my plate. 

"Actually, the neighbors did not tell me. I'm sure that if she's your age, you will meet her at school!"

Soon, everyone came into the kitchen for breakfast. First my dad, then my brother and then my grandparents. Lucy was still sleeping. We all stuffed our mouths as fast as we could so we could get to school early. Matthew has athletics so we have to drop him off early, but Mom and Dad think that it would be good to let me get there early and meet some new people. I thought that was a great idea too! The only people that didn't rush were Nana and Gramp. They don't have to work so they will stay home. 

Then, I grabbed my backpack and said goodbye to my family. Today, Dad was going to walk us to school so we didn't get lost. We walked and walked and walked in the blazing sun. We were sweating once we got to school. Dad kissed us goodbye and we went inside. The first thing I saw was 3 girls talking near the front lockers. I noticed that the one with the blond hair was wearing the same outfit as me. What were the odds? We were both wearing pale pink dresses with a ribbon belt. I decided to go talk to her. But this was a mistake. A BIG mistake. The two girls looked me up and down and the girl in the middle was giving me a dirty look. 

"Hi there! I'm Lucy! I noticed that we had the same ou-"

"OMG, she stole my outfit." She said looking amused. The girls next to her gasped. 

"I didn't ste-"

"Ugh how pathetic. You try to steal MY spotlight and got caught red-handed." She said with a sneer spread on her face. 

"Back off. She's new here and you have no right to bully her like that." I heard a voice from behind me say. I turned around to see a girl with black hair tied in a tight bun with cute glasses and a yellow dress. 

"Ugh, whatever Nerdy Norah." The girls say together staring at her with the same look they gave me."  

"I have a name for you too Mean Marie!" The girl said sticking her tounge out. 

The girls behing Marie were giggling, but when Marie turned around, they knew better. 

The girl with black hair turned away and started walking. 
"Wait!" I said "I didn't catch your name!"

She turned around and looked pale and nervious. 

"My name is Norah! Well my American name. It's amazing to see someone that actually cares! Want to pick lockers out together? Am I being too fast?" She said looking nervous. 

"No, your not talking too much! I talk as much as you!" She stepped a little closer to me. She didn't seem scared aynmore. 

"I've never had an actual friend bef-" Norah started. 

"Hold that thought. What do you mean about your American name?" I asked very confused. 

"Oh. People find it hard to pronounce my real name so I have an American name. My real name is Kim Rae-Myung." She said shyly. 

"Cool name Norah!" I said excitedly

"Thank you!" She said while she walked over to two empty lockers. "We should take these so we can stay together."

"That's a great idea!" I said happily. I looked back to see Marie looking surprised and mad that I already had a friend. 

Just as I finished putting my things away, the bell rang. 

"We can talk again during lunch! Although, we will probably be in the same class." I said as we ran to class with our books. Well that's all that happened for the first part of the day. I will write another entry about what happened during the school day but for now....
